Design, Automation and Test in Europe Conference 2026
The Design, Automation and Test in Europe (DATE) Conference is the primary European event focused on the research and development of technologies for electronic and systems engineering. This 29th edition brings together designers, design automation users, researchers, and vendors to discuss the design process, testing, and automation tools for electronic products. The scope of the event ranges from integrated circuits and systems-on-chip to distributed large-scale systems, covering both hardware and embedded software design.
The 2026 conference program addresses critical contemporary challenges including sustainable computing, smart societies, digital wellness, and secure autonomous systems. High emphasis is placed on the integration of artificial intelligence and emerging design technologies for future computing and memories. The multi-day schedule includes the presentation of regular research papers, extended abstracts, and late-breaking results, supplemented by keynote talks, focus sessions, and technical panels.
In addition to the core technical program, the event features specialized tutorials, half-day workshops, and multi-partner project sessions designed to show results from innovative research initiatives. The Young People Programme (YPP) provides a dedicated track for junior researchers and students, offering a career fair and university fair to foster connections between academia and industry partners.
The conference is sponsored by the European Design and Automation Association (EDAA), the Electronic System Design Alliance (ESDA), the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (IEEE CEDA), and the ACM Special Interest Group on Design Automation (ACM SIGDA). It is held in cooperation with the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, the IEEE Computer Society Test Technology Technical Community, and the IEEE Computer Society.
