Axiomtek has expanded its medical computing portfolio with the launch of the mBOX603, a next-generation edge platform specifically engineered to handle the intensive demands of AI-assisted diagnostics and real-time clinical operations. The system is designed to support a variety of high-stakes healthcare applications, including CT and MRI reconstruction, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) processing, and intelligent nursing workflows.

The platform utilizes 13th and 12th Gen Intel Core processors, ranging from i3 to i9, paired with high-speed DDR5 memory that includes ECC support for enhanced data stability. To accommodate the heavy computational requirements of medical imaging and AI inference, the system features a high-wattage medical power supply, available in 500W or 900W configurations. This internal power capacity allows for the direct integration of advanced GPUs and video capture cards without requiring external hardware.

For visualization, the system supports three independent 4K displays through dual HDMI and DisplayPort++ interfaces. This capability is intended for use in surgical monitoring, imaging review, and patient information dashboards. Connectivity is further supported by dual 2.5GbE LAN ports, multiple USB 3.2 interfaces, and serial ports, allowing the unit to interface directly with ultrasound devices, medical cameras, and bedside sensors.

The hardware architecture emphasizes modularity and expansion. It includes two PCIe x16 slots for hardware acceleration, alongside M.2 slots for NVMe storage and wireless connectivity, including 4G and LTE options. For data integrity and continuous operation, the system provides dual hot-swappable 2.5-inch SSD trays with RAID 0/1 support, which is critical for maintaining PACS and patient records.

The mBOX603 is fully compliant with IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 medical safety standards. It is manufactured under ISO 13485-certified processes to ensure long-term reliability and regulatory compliance in clinical environments.

“We created this platform to deliver the performance, safety, and flexibility required in today’s AI-driven healthcare environments,” said Jenny Yu, Product Manager of the IDS Division at Axiomtek. “Its powerful computing, extensive expansion options, and medical-grade design help healthcare providers accelerate digital transformation with confidence.”
